This Act may be cited as the "Larry Henderson Act".
Section 111 of title 18, United States Code, is amended—
(1) - in subsection (a), in the matter preceding subsection (b), by striking "only" and all that follows through the period at the end and inserting "any bodily harm or bodily injury, be fined under this title and imprisoned not less than 20 years.";
(2) - by striking subsection (b);
(3) - by redesignating subsection (c) as subsection (b); and
(4) Exclusive applicability - by adding at the end the following:
(c) Exclusive applicability - The provisions of this section shall apply exclusively to any act of assault, resistance, or impediment against any officer or employee of the United States engaged in or on account of the performance of official Federal duties.
(d) Effect on State law - The provisions of this section shall supersede any and all State laws insofar as they may now or hereafter relate to the assault, resistance, or impediment against any officer or employee of the United States engaged in or on account of the performance of official Federal duties.
Section 3632(d)(4)(D)(v) of title 18, United States Code, is amended by striking "Section 111(b)" and inserting "Section 111".
This Act, and the amendments made by this Act, shall apply to any offense committed on or after the date of enactment of this Act.
