1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the "Limiting ICE’s Nationwide Encroachment Act" or the "LINE Act".


2. Prohibition on disclosing Medicaid data

Notwithstanding section 552a of title 5, United States Code, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Department of Health and Human Services may not disclose the individually identifiable health information (as defined in section 1171(6) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1320d(6)) of an individual that is obtained in relation to such individual’s enrollment under a State plan (or waiver of such plan) under title XIX of such Act (42 U.S.C. 1396 et seq.) to any person, including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, for the purpose of enforcing the immigration laws (as such term is defined in section 101 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1101))).
