1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the "Responding to Exploitation and Sharing of Private Explicit Content and Threats Act" or the "RESPECT Act".


2. Increased penalties related to intentional disclosure of nonconsensual intimate visual depictions

Section 223(h) of the Communications Act of 1934 (47 U.S.C. 223(h)) is amended—

(1) - in paragraph (4)—

(A) - in subparagraph (A), by striking "2 years" and inserting "5 years"; and

(B) - in subparagraph (B), by striking "3 years" and inserting "10 years"; and

(2) - in paragraph (6)(B)—

(A) - in clause (i), by striking "18 months" and inserting "3 years"; and

(B) - in clause (ii), by striking "30 months" and inserting "5 years".
