This Act may be cited as the “No Iranian Energy Act”.
It is the sense of Congress that the United States should target Iran’s emerging gas industry for the imposition of sanctions.
The Iran Freedom and Counter-Proliferation Act of 20212 is amended as follows:
(1) Applicability of sanctions to natural gas - In section 1244 (22 U.S.C. 8803) by amending subsection (h) to read as follows:
(h) Applicability of sanctions to natural gas - Except as provided in section 1254, this section shall apply to the sale, supply, or transfer to or from Iran of natural gas.
(2) Applicability of sanctions to natural gas - In section 1247 (22 U.S.C. 8806) by amending subsection (e) to read as follows:
(e) Applicability of sanctions to natural gas - Except as provided in section 1254, this section shall apply to the sale, supply, or transfer to or from Iran of natural gas.
